Meet the Team: the Humans
Shelley has over 30 yrs of positive equine experience. She grew up competing, studying, & training Arabian, half Arabian, & National Show Horses. She has competed in local all the way to national level shows under the guidance of top trainers. Shelley rode with the Mission Bells Drill Team for 3 years and had the honor of riding with the team in the 1995 Tournament of Roses Parade. Shelley worked for Disneyland’s Circle Ranch for 3 ½ years, where she drove the horse-drawn streetcars on Main Street and was a trainer for all the new drivers. In September of 2005, Shelley joined El Camino Ranch as a riding instructor and quickly moved up to become the director of the riding academy. Shelley’s mission is to teach safety, proper horsemanship, and horse care to prepare the clients to become horse owners and competitors. As an extension of her background & education, she became a certified equine appraiser. In January of 2009, Shelley opened her own show barn at Heartland Stables.
